Holy crap! The Rules of MAD!

Well, in a fit of rage and horror, we've decided to put up the rules of MAD :D
I know right?...

Welp. Here we go.

The Official Rules of MAD

By joining MAD, you agree to fully understanding these rules. If you break any of these rules, you may be severely penalized, put on double secret prohibition, or booted without question.

Rules that apply for everybody

Do not agro team ai's.
Do not agro things that you yourself cannot kill 100%
Do not attack other players or other player teams without being attacked first.
Do not attack team members or team bases.
Do not start trade routes on team members' bases without consulting the owner of the base.
Swearing in team chat is a 100,000 credit penalty to team funds.
Spamming in team chat is a 250,000 credit penalty to team funds.
Using all caps in one line without saying, "sorry, caps" afterwords is a 50,000 credit penalty to team funds. (And all 3.. well.. you can add up the numbers).
Don't beg in team chat.
Do not contradict an Officer in charge of what you are talking about, a councilor, or the director.
If you are talking with another team member in a one on one conversation in team chat, please take it to a PM.

Rules for Soldiers

Don't mark any other teams or players as enemy.
Don't mark any ai's as enemy unless you yourself can kill them 100%.
Don't mark any team ai's as enemy.

Rules for Operators

You may change anything in any bases in the galaxy you control, but please consult the owner first.
You may not change anything in any other bases outside your galaxy without consult from owner first.
Don't be stupid.

Rules for Officers

Invite only friends of MAD.
Let the OiC of Recruitment and above ranks take care of all unknown people who want to join MAD.
Follow rules of Operators.
Follow rules of Soldiers.
Follow what you are in charge of. The list of OiCs and their rules is below.

Don't take out of team funds without permission from Director.

Here is the list of our Officers and what they are in charge of.

Black Magic- Officer in charge of Battle.
Journeyman- Officer in charge of Team Relations.
JIM- Officer in charge of Team Recruitment.
Determined- Officer in charge of Team Events.
Sean(Catgo defender)- Officer in charge of Team Bases.
Asmodeaan- He's.. just kind of there. His main is Beelzebub. PM him if you need him, he's very helpful.

Alrighty Officers of MAD. Below is a list of available OIC spots and a little bit about them. You guys can choose your own job like this. PM me ingame what job you primarily want, and what job you secondarily want incase you cant get the prime one. If two people choose the same prime, they will talk it over together and figure it out. No fighting though.. i'll be there to watch for that hopefully :)

OIC of Bases
This Officer is in charge of putting new and capable Operators to new galaxies that we find. This officer will also maintain and watch over the bases and galaxies that we have, and such and such. All operator stats apply though, it's just as if you own every galaxy. Of course, don't be stupid... ask first anyways.

OIC of Team Relations
This Officer upholds the peace in MAD with any other team. He will negotiate for peace, and will keep things nice and clean with everybody outside, and inside the team. Yes, this Officer will try to also break up fights within the team also. Negotiator is a good way of putting this Officer.

OIC of Team Recruitment
This Officer will watch over the members of the team. Like the name, he will be doing the recruiting for the team. He will also be watching over the members as peons and make sure they aren't being jerks and such.

OIC of Battle
This Officer plays a big role in fleet vs fleet battles and such and such. He has control over the Soldiers in the team, and understand how the entire Soldier thing works. He can order people around via battle.

OIC of Team Events
This is a new thing. This Officer will try his best to create events within the team. Whether its racing, pvp, base building, etc., hopefully this will put a new touch with MAD interaction and we will all have a bit more fun.

Now, of course, Counclers and Director can overrule any Officers. But that's just how the ladder works. Counclers and Director are like every Officer put together and more.

Go to www.ventrilo.com and download the program Ventrilo. The download menu should be on the left. Then download the client for it.

Once downloaded, run the .exe. On the top you see User Name, click the button to the right and create a username very similar to your main in MAD+. then, once finished, under User Name is Server. In the server put...

Ranks Ranks Ranks

Here on MAD, we have perfected the Ranking system so that all of MAD is very equal among the many many members we have.

OFFICER
"Why can't I be officer!" "How can I be officer?" "Why are you and officer and i'm not?" I can assure you that all of these questions are of complete uselessness with the system we will use. Officers are only those in charge of certain operation.

OIC, Bases: This guy
OIC, Team Relations (questions, complaints) and Technology Research: That guy
OIC, Slaves: Some guy
OIC, Discipline and Courts Martial: One guy

That is an example of what we have for Officers in Charge (OIC) of things. We will rethink all OIC's again, and who will be them once we have the director thing sorted, and everybody needed in MAD+. But as you can see, with that, there are only a few officers. None more, none less. And thats all they are in charge of. So becoming officer doesn't give you any more rights as a civilian really, only to recruit, which you can do by referring to an officer anyways so its no big deal. That is the way we want officers to be. We don't care for whiners who want a high rank and just joined 2 days ago.

RULES OF OFFICER (must follow)
Do not recruit pirates. Do not recruit scammers. Do not go crazy. You play a role in whatever job you do, you agreed to doing it, so do it. But don't go crazy with it as I mentioned earlier. It's still a game, so have fun.

OPERATOR
The operators in MAD will be those who have control over a gaalxy. For instance, in Eta Carinae, Churchill owns privlages on who builds there and what happens there. He will be an operator because of this.
RULES OF OPERATOR (must follow)
You may not mess, remove, destroy, kill, demo, neutron, or anything to any other team bases outside your galaxy without speaking with the owner of the base about exactly what you are doing first. This of course, does not apply to your own galaxy. Failure to cooperate with this rule will take you from operator position and will put somebody else in charge of your galaxy.

THE SOLDIER RANK
These are people who have deticated themselves, or who have at least stated outloud to the Officer in Charge (OiC) of PvP (war, security, training, etc.) that they will listen to him nomatter what during a battle. These people will be running under, what is hopefully a very intelligent leader, who has much experience in the position (wink wink.. ?) and will not let you die. As the soldier class, you will be expected to come over and fight any battle that you are sent to. Drafted yes, but for the cause of helping M.A.D. Those who have very good equiptment should definatly do this. If you think that you just don't want to be sent out or anything, understand that it doesn't happen often. It is more of an emergency thing. I will explain the benefits to this after I write about..

The benefits towards Soldier rank: With this, we will be able to get all people willing to fight and help defend M.A.D. in 1 known area. Peons can always help of course too. This though will make it much easier to get help. Instead of "Those who want to.." It will be "All soldiers please..". With this, an issue of order and defence will be great over M.A.D. Also, we will have people who understand that they have to listen to the officer, because they will have said it outloud that they will do so. It won't be like the new players who do things and then later figure out it is against rules.

THE PEON RANK
These are now all people in M.A.D. who do anything to help and have fun. You can call them civillians if you want, but the people as peons will now not have to risk there lives if they cannot, and can request for help. These are the people who build up the M.A.D. community, and talk amongst everybody about anything. The lolligaggers :P so to speak.

The benefits towards Peon rank: Equality, understanding, order. No more will we have people wanting to become a higher rank, as everybody in M.A.D. will be equal. I'm not totally sure if this applies to M.A.D., but we definatly won't have people bragging that they are a higher rank then others and the lower ranks have to follow. Yes, soldier class is higher rank, but they can't take control of peons unless it is during a battle and they want the save them from dieing (unless the peon wants to fight).

Guidelines to lookout for in MAD

Just a list of things to remember... imporatante

-Don't dock and leave ships in stations, if that station dies then you can only blame yourself.
-Keep base building characters and fighting characters seperate. If you shoot a Dark Commerce (or any other ai) with a fighting character and you own bases, you should always expect the worst can happen.
-Never risk what you can't afford to lose.
-Interesting Fact: You can search through members in the team list ingame by clicking on any player, then typing out the player you are looking for's name. For instance. Want to find Sean(Catgo Defender)? Click anybody, like.. director.. who's right there at top. Then just type in "Sean" fast, and you should get him.
